Mercedes Benz, Motorwagen

Paying tribute to the original founder of Mercedes Benz, Motorwagen is a stunning new dining destination in the heart of Brisbane CBD. Our pieces were driven by the restaurant’s original vision – inspiring, elegant & functional.

Beside a Mercedes Benz boutique with the latest models on display, Motorwagen is a contemporary cafe and restaurant that celebrates the innovation and creativity of Karl Benz. When we were approached by KP Architects to build a number of pieces for the restaurant’s dining room, our intention was to reflect the quality and sophistication associated with the Benz name. Motorwagen’s vision can be expressed in three words – inspiring, elegant and functional – and the chosen materials possess these same qualities. Marble, brass and American Oak were thoughtfully used throughout the project, complementing the fit-out’s light hardwood flooring, brick walls and floor-to-ceiling art. Beautiful Dolomite marble was sourced to create smaller, round dining tables. These were edged with hand-brushed brass and finished with a black powder-coated steel base. Large, 10-seater dining tables were crafted from classic American Oak. A timeless Herringbone patterned top and tapered legs ensured function and elegance were perfectly balanced. It was great to be a part of this exciting new space, and we’re delighted that our Ferrier & Co pieces are sitting alongside a few of Mercedes’ top of the line automobiles. We like to think they complement each other perfectly!
